Welcome back to school! First of all, we want to thank you for reading the first blog entry of Eastridge. We had a great summer and below is a recap of key events from this season. On Thursday, July 13th, Blue’s Clues Host “Joe” (Donovan Patton) came to Eastridge to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Groundbreaking series via a “Meet Joe from Blue’s Clues” event hosted by Club Noggin.

Eastridge was one out of five locations for this Club Noggin Mall Tour chosen in the nation. Preschoolers got to hear a story from Joe, receive goody bags filled with fun items, say hello and receive an autograph from Joe.

At last, everyone got “sneak peek” of the new hour-long movie, Meet Blue’s Baby Brother, which premiered a few weeks later. We had a blast meeting moms, caretakers, and children. A big thank-you to everyone who supported the event.

Just a few weeks before their debut CD, Unappreciated, came to the market, Cherish appeared at Eastridge on Monday, July 24th for a short promo performance, sponsored by Wild 94.9.

Unappreciated is now available at f.y.e, located at Upper Level near JCPenney. Cherish’s summer single “Do It to It” stayed in the Top 20 of Billboard’s Pop and RB/Hip Hop Charts. The Marketing Team met and took photos with the four sisters, Farrah, Neosha, and twins Felisha and Fallon back stage after the concert.

On Saturday, August 19th, we gave students a chance to chill out at THE SCENE before heading back to school. THE SCENE is an award winning, back-to-school teen event now in its seventh year. The program showcases “scenes” from the latest lifestyle gadgets and trends relevant to today’s teens.

Kendall Payne, musician and song writer, brought life to the stage at Eastridge with only her guitar in hand. The Ken Oak Band, with its unique combination of the cello and rhythm guitar, dazzled the crowd with their live performance.

Teens also entered THE JEAN SCENE Photo Contest, sponsored by Cosmo Girl! and Aeropostale. The contest will conclude on September 30, and entry forms are now available at Customer Service, located at Upper Level Center Court. Fill out the entry form and answer the question, “If your jeans could talk, what would they say?” One Eastridge winner will receive six pairs of cool jeans from Aeropostale, and be eligible for the grand prize of a shopping trip to New York City.

Every teen who registered at the event enjoyed special Back-To-School savings from Eastridge’s Aeropostale, American Eagle, Anchor Blue, Claire’s, Tilly’s, Workmen’s Balance, and more. They also tried their luck at the Pepsi Prize Wheel and won exciting prizes like gift cards, cool stationeries, CDs, t-shirts, posters, and Bath & Body Works hand soap.

In honor of Tommy’s 10th anniversary and in celebration of the new Tommy 10 and Tommy Girl 10 fragrances, digital pictures and time capsule starter ideas were offered to teens at the Tommy’s table.

We were glad to see the students who had joined us for the event!

What better way to end the summer than by welcoming Chili’s Eastridge! We took everyone in the office there for lunch on Friday, August 25th, and the food was excellent!
