Child Safety Extravaganza
Together with San Jose Police Department and Vanished Children’s Alliance, Eastridge held a Child Safety Extravaganza on Saturday, May 12th, from 2pm to 6pm.

Above: 8 years old Cassidy Gilmore and teammates from Ernie Reyes’ West Coast Martial Arts Association helped jump start the afternoon with their karate moves. Below: Kristin Appleton from VCA helped over 80 children with digital finger printing.

Shoppers were invited to help make a difference in the lives of missing children by iconing t-shirts of missing and abducted children in preparation of National Missing Children’s Day on May 25th, 2007. This effort was led by Officer Brian Speers, who received a Hometown Hero award for outstanding community outreach effort from Eastridge in 2006. A big thank you also to Officer Raul Martinez, Officer Bill Solma, and Officer Katie Reyes for assisting the event and sharing safety tips.
